M23 seeks an independent Director with strong interests in contemporary art, understanding of the market, and a history of successful gallery administration. The ideal candidate has relationships with artists, galleries, curators, and other arts professionals related to our programming. The candidate would ideally have long-term ambitions that would include cultivating the careers of our artists and program, while advancing their own personal knowledge, experience and career. 

The position requires an entrepreneurial personality with the ability to initiate strategic procedures to defend the practices of our artists - while creating an economy that advances their careers, and our program locally and internationally. A commitment of one or two days at the gallery during gallery hours, as well as availability for timely communication as necessary throughout the week.

Intern, Autumn/Winter

M23 seeks an independent, enthusiastic intern with a background and interest in contemporary art to assist in all aspects of daily operations. Tasks include communicating with artists, curators, clients - as well as arranging shipping details, assisting in installations, and related administrative duties.

The ideal candidate is articulate, conscientious, self-motivated and willing to learn. Applicants should be familiar with Apple computers, common computer programs, and social media. The ability to safely handle artworks is essential, as is a sense of humor. 

The position is an opportunity to earn academic credit, while gaining valuable insight and experience in all areas of working in the business of art. A commitment of one to two days per week is preferred; start date based on applicant's academic schedule.
