Doctors Without Borders (Médecins Sans Frontières)

Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) began its COVID-19 response by partnering with organizations helping the homeless and housing insecure in New York City, which is currently the epicenter of the global pandemic and is also home to our US office. MSF teams are also on the ground assessing local needs and our capacity to offer support to organizations and health care providers serving vulnerable communities in Puerto Rico, including people affected by the recent earthquakes in the southwestern part of the island, and Native American populations in the American Southwest. We also are providing remote support—such as advising on infection prevention and control and hospital triage set-up and providing informational materials on COVID-19 best practices—to organizations helping vulnerable populations in various other geographic areas of the US.

Coalition for the Homeless

While the current COVID-19 outbreak in NYC is dramatically impacting the lives of every person in our city, please remember that homeless New Yorkers are particularly vulnerable, as they have much higher rates of serious underlying health problems, generally lack access to quality health care, and have no way to self-quarantine. The Coalition for the Homeless is doing all in our power to ensure that our neighbors without homes get the help and protection they need during this crisis.

America’s Food Fund

Leonardo DiCaprio, Emerson Collective, Apple, and the Ford Foundation launched America’s Food Fund with the goal of ensuring that all people have reliable access to food. Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, more than 37 million people struggled to know where their next meal might come from on a daily basis, a number that we are seeing rise at an exponential rate.

America’s Food Fund proudly supports World Central Kitchen, Feeding America, Save the Children U.S., No Kid Hungry, and Urban School Food Alliance as its beneficiaries. 100% of donations will go directly to these organizations as they continue to coordinate, mobilize, and distribute meals to those impacted by COVID-19. We have an opportunity to come together to support our neighbors in this critical time of need.
